Your are right, according to the grapevines, the name sounds sexy and
spicy. I think it sounds even more lurid when spoken in hokkien
dialect. As hokkien is the majority of dialect groups, it can be
embarassng Singaporeans when the "somapah" is pronouned. The
prounciation of this word is like saying to others " so lan pah" or
"stroke my balls".
I think LTA should refuse and remove this name as it can ended up in a
irreversbile joke that can go on yearsand years, and it can even joked
into centuries later, should the name of this train station is heaped
with jokea that it will affects commuters and the massess of diverse
community of Singaporeans.
